APC suspends Ganduje over $413,000 bribery allegations

The All Progressives Congress in Ganduje Ward of Dawakin Tofa local government area of Kano State has suspended the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, from the party.

Addressing journalists in Kano on Monday, the ward’s legal adviser, Halliru Gwanzo, announced the suspension, citing allegations of bribery against Ganduje by the Kano State Government as the reason.

“We decided to suspend Dr. Ganduje from the party due to the seriousness of the allegations against him,” Gwanzo stated.

He emphasized that the suspension would remain in place until Ganduje clears himself from the allegations, particularly regarding his long-standing dollar case.

Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has been suspended by members of his ward, the Ganduje Ward in the Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.

During a press briefing in Kano on Monday, the Executive Council of Ganduje Ward, led by Haruna Gwanjo, reiterated the need for Ganduje to clear his name of corruption allegations, specifically related to the viral video showing him allegedly receiving bundles of dollar notes as a bribe.

The case has been brought back into the spotlight, with the Kano High Court set to arraign Ganduje on charges of bribery, diversion, and misappropriation of funds, including the purported acceptance of $413,000 and N1.38bn in bribes.

The Kano State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Haruna Dederi, confirmed that Ganduje would be arraigned alongside his wife and six others, with the state administration ready to present 15 witnesses to testify before the court.
