VIDEO: I took to stealing, weed-smoking after my parents died, teenage thief tells mob
A 13-year-old boy identified only as Ogaga was recently caught and paraded by an irate mob for stealing clothes and footwear in Sapele, Delta state.
However, during interrogation, Ogaga who was caught with his friend pleaded for leniency.
He confessed that he started stealing and smoking weed after he lost both parents.
On why he smokes, the teenager attributed it to depression, which he claimed was a result of too much thinking about his hopeless situation.
In the viral video, the mob which comprises angry residents could be heard saying they caught the two teenagers, Ogaga and Tomiwa, caught in the act, stealing clothes from lines and footwear from doorsteps, following series of complaints about missing slippers and clothes in the neighbourhood.
When asked what they would do if they are eventually set free, the duo vowed to turn a new leaf.
