Troops neutralise four terrorists, arrest 120 in Plateau, Kaduna
Troops of Operation Safe Haven Special Military Task Force have eliminated four suspected terrorists and apprehended 120 others between October 16 and 22 in Plateau, Kaduna, and parts of Bauchi states.
The Media Officer of the operation, Captain James Oya, disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Jos.
According to Oya, the arrested suspects face a variety of charges, including kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling, drug peddling, and the illegal possession of arms and ammunition.
Of the 120 arrested individuals, 73 were apprehended with arms and ammunition, while 37 were held on charges of kidnapping.
The operation also saw the successful rescue of four kidnapped victims, highlighting the troops’ dedication to safeguarding the well-being of the communities they serve.
Oya highlighted the troops’ proactive response, stating, “We prevented five attacks on vulnerable communities and promptly responded to 28 distress calls.”
Moreover, he informed the public that some suspects arrested for car and motorcycle theft had been handed over to the police for prosecution.
