Tinubu appoints new management for FGN power company


President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of a new management team for the FGN Power Company Limited. The announcement was made in a statement released on Friday by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale.

The appointments are seen as a vital step in the ongoing efforts to reform the power sector and ensure energy security for all Nigerians. Ngelale’s statement highlighted the significance of power supply in driving enterprise and industrial development.

In the renewed team, Kenny Osebi Anuwe has been reappointed by the president as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the company. Prof. Mamman Lawal will continue in his role as Company Secretary/Legal Advisor.

Other notable appointments include Ebenezer Olawale Fapohunda as the Chief Technical Officer, Babatunde Daramola Oniru as Chief Commercial Officer, and Julius Oyekola Olabiyi as the Chief Financial Officer.

“The President anticipates that with the full constitution of the management team, the FGN Power Company Limited will work assiduously to realize the core objectives of the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI),” the statement affirmed.

The PPI aims to comprehensively overhaul, modernize, and expand the national grid in collaboration with Siemens Energy, alongside other critical measures to foster the growth of the Nigeria Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).
