It is imperative to note that the current Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha hails from Garka.
Daily Trust reported that the incident occurred in the wee hours of Wednesday.
According to one of Garki residents, about half of the people living in the affected settlement have migrated to neighbouring villages after the insurgents struck terror in the community.
The resident also expressed fear that the attackers could possibly head to Garka.
One of the survivors identified as Hilda Joshua disclosed that apart from those killed, many villagers also sustained injuries in the attack.
Joshua who noted that he managed to escape to the bush, expressed worry that his family members and neighbours are still trapped in the village.
Another survivor disclosed that he saw three corpses lying in the bush around Kwapre, a neighbouring village.
Meanwhile, local sources in Adamawa claimed that military fighter jets hovered around the villages and engaged the attackers.
Efforts made to reach 23 Armour Brigade Public Relations Officer, Major Mohammed Haruna Sani, proved abortive as his telephone line was out of reach as of the time of filing this report.
