Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have killed 16 terrorists during military operations in Adamawa State. Meanwhile, three Nigerian soldiers died in separate attacks. This incident has come to be known as the Adamawa terrorist attack due to the significant loss of life and military engagement.

According to The PUNCH, Military Information Officer Capt Mohammed Goni said the operations took place between September 30 and October 1. These operations occurred across Sector 4 of the North-East Joint Task Force. The Adamawa terrorist attack highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region.

Troops carried out an ambush against a terrorist enclave around Boima in Gombi Local Government Area. They did this as part of their response to the Adamawa terrorist attack.

Weapons recovered after ambush

“The swift tactical action resulted in the neutralisation of 16 terrorists,” Goni said.

Troops recovered three AK-47 rifles, two pump-action rifles, one Dane gun, ammunition magazines and cartridges from the scene.

The Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai also carried out a separate strike. Surveillance equipment detected suspected terrorists and motorcycles gathering beneath a tree canopy. Clearly, the Adamawa terrorist attack has prompted coordinated efforts across different military units.

Three soldiers killed

Meanwhile, insurgents launched attacks on military locations in Garkida and Garaha.

Troops repelled the attackers, but three soldiers died during the fighting.

“Regrettably, three brave soldiers paid the supreme sacrifice during the fierce battle,” Goni said.

The military said injured personnel were evacuated for treatment and remained in stable condition
