Temitope Osoba dies, leaving colleagues and admirers of the popular Nollywood actress mourning her sudden passing.
According to Punch, fellow actor Alesh Sanni announced Osoba’s death on Wednesday through an emotional post shared on his Instagram page.
Sanni said he had been unable to sleep since receiving the news. He described the actress as a dear sister with whom he shared several memorable experiences.
“Rest in peace, my dearest sister, Temitope Osoba,” he wrote.
The actor added that they had enjoyed wonderful moments together and expressed difficulty finding the right words to describe his grief.

The cause of Temitope Osoba’s death had not been disclosed at the time of the announcement.
Her family and representatives had also not issued a detailed statement explaining the circumstances surrounding her passing.

Osoba was known for appearing in several Yoruba-language Nollywood productions and earned recognition among viewers and colleagues for her performances.
The actress began her entertainment career as a dancer and video vixen before moving fully into acting.
She featured in productions such as Oogun Mi, Ifedolapo, Ile Owo, Omo Iya Kan and Gucci Girls.
Actress previously overcame cancer
Osoba previously spoke publicly about her battle with breast cancer after discovering a lump during a self-examination in 2024.
She underwent surgery to remove the lump before further tests confirmed that it was cancerous.
The actress later required another operation and radiation treatment. Colleagues, including Alesh Sanni and Foluke Daramola, helped publicise her appeal for financial assistance.
Osoba subsequently announced that medical examinations showed the cancer had not spread. She later described herself as cancer-free and returned to the entertainment industry.
However, no official statement has linked her previous health condition to her death.
Her passing has left the Yoruba film industry mourning another performer whose career and personal journey inspired many of her supporters.
