Suspected motorcycle snatcher kills 35-year-old commercial rider
Suspected bandit has allegedly killed a 35-year-old commercial motorcyclist in Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa, the Police have said.
SP Abdu Jinjiri, the Spokesman, Jigawa Police Command on Thursday in Dutse said that the incident occurred on March 12.
Jinjiri said the deceased, Bako Maiturare, a resident of Harbo Sabuwa village of Jahun Local Government Area was said to have carried an unknown passenger to an unknown destination at about 10 p.m.
He added that the police in the area later received a report that Maiturare was missing as he was not seen again after carrying the suspected bandit as a passenger to an unknown place.
The spokesman added that on March 13, at about at 4:30 p.m., the corpse of the deceased was found lying in a pool of blood in a nearby bush around Kamai village.
According to him, the police immediately rushed to the scene and conveyed the corpses to Jahun General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
“The victim was found lying dead in cold blood at the outskirts of Kamai village inside a bush.
“On receipt of the report, the police proceeded to the scene and conveyed the corpse to a hospital for medical examination where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor,” Jinjiri said.
Jinjiri further said the remains of the deceased had been handed over to his family for burial.
He said the police had commenced investigation into the matter with a view to arresting the fleeing suspect and recovering the motorcycle.
“Efforts to arrest the suspect and recover the motorcycle are in progress,” the Police spokesman said.
