Super Falcons striker, Assisat Oshoala, loses mother
Super Falcons and Barcelona striker, Assisat Oshola, has announced the passing of her beloved step-mother.
The former Liverpool Ladies forward disclosed this to her 649k Instagram followers her on Sunday via a video post, a collage of the deceased’s happy moments in life.
“Sometimes, life just hit us hard in places we can’t respond,” she captioned the post, followed by a series of Instagram stories for her “#StepMomLikeNoOther.
The four-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year expressed sadness with a voice-over in the video as she expressed disbelief that her mum is gone.
In a sad tone, the ex-Arsenal Ladies forward said: “I still find it difficult to accept but this is my reality Allahu Allah. Mummy, I’m so short of words right now…
“I’ve heard lots of it has happened, it has happened, there is nothing you can do to bring her back, you are a strong girl… I just cannot process these lines, mummy, you are not gone; it is not possible.”
“I’ll still chase every damn dream for you, mummy. May Allah accept your return, eliminate your grave and forgive your shortcomings and make us reunite in Janah Firdaus. Amen.”
Her fellow Barcelona teammate, Kheira Hamraoui sent in her condolence, alongside a number of Nigerian celebrities including Craze Clown, fellow footballers- Ramon Azeez, Francisca Ordega and Taiwo Awoniyi, DJ Enimoney, DJ Lambo, Nancy Isime and Ikorodu Bois, amongst others.
