FC Barcelona striker Luis Suarez’s contract with the club has reportedly been terminated as he has finally agreed to join Laliga rivals Atletico Madrid.

El Mundo Deportivo reports that the Uruguayan striker has a personal agreement in place with Atleti and the Diego Simeone side looking to offload Diego Costa who has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce.

There have been reports that the termination of Suarez contract is not yet complete with the club reluctant to pay him off for the final year of his contract.

Diego Simeone and Atleti’s CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin are said to have been in constant contact with the Uruguayan and are looking to have him at their club after his deal to Juventus collapsed.

The former Liverpool and Ajax man is one of the deadliest strikers in Europe and that was shown even in the past season where he hit 21 goals in an injury-hit season; the player set to leave Barca as he is not in the plans of new boss Ronald Koeman.

Barca is said to be going all out for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, who has been touted to be the long-term replacement for the Uruguayan at the Camp Nou and the Laliga giants will do as much as they can to sell players to fund the deal.

Suarez has been a revelation for Barcelona since joining them in the summer of 2014 having netted 197 goals across 283 appearances for the club.
