Other Nigerian players expected to feature in the competition include Christian Nwachukwu, who represents Azerbaijani side Sabah.

The Spanish club lost its opening Champions League fixture 2-1 against Liverpool but has since recorded six consecutive victories across competitions.

Lookman scored during Atletico’s 2-0 victory over Manchester United last week and will be hoping to contribute again.

Stuttgart have won both of their opening Champions League matches, defeating Viking 3-1 and Slovan Bratislava 3-0.

The German side will be seeking a third consecutive victory in the competition.

Osimhen seeks first Champions League victory

Osimhen’s Galatasaray will face Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy on Wednesday.

Both clubs enter the encounter without a victory in their opening two league-phase fixtures.

Galatasaray suffered defeats against Sporting CP and Barcelona, despite taking the lead in both encounters.

Osimhen played the full 90 minutes during Galatasaray’s 1-0 domestic victory over Genclerbirligi on Saturday.

The Nigerian striker will be hoping to help the Turkish champions secure their first European victory of the season.

Other Nigerians prepare for European fixtures

Christian Nwachukwu’s Sabah will host Borussia Dortmund in Baku on Tuesday.

The Azerbaijani club recorded its first Champions League victory last week, defeating Slavia Prague 2-0.

Meanwhile, Moses Usor remains doubtful for LASK’s trip to Sporting CP after missing the club’s previous European encounter.

Fellow Nigerian Samuel Adeniran could feature for LASK after scoring during their domestic victory over Austria Lustenau.

The fixtures will provide another opportunity for Nigerian players to make an impact in Europe’s leading club competition.
