Samuel Eto’o celebrates AFCON title with Cameroonian players inside dressing room
Football legend Samuel Eto’o celebrated with his countrymen on Sunday night after Cameroon beat Egypt 2-1 in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations final in Gabon.
The Indomitable Lions came back from one goal down to defeat The Pharaohs of Egypt, with Vincent Aboubakar scoring the winner in the 88th minute.
Eto’o was in the stands at the final match to show support for his nation, and was also photographed with Chelsea legend Marcel Desailly.

The former Barcelona and Real Mallorca player also took to his Facebook page to congratulate the Cameroonian players for the feat. He also dedicated the trophy to the late Marc-Vivien Foe of Cameroon.
He wrote, @Cameroon’s win last night and the fact that we’ve secured the last spot in the #ConfedCup reminded me of 2003, when we had a great campaign but also a big loss. We will always remember you, Foé! Now Cameroon is back in #ConfedCup and I am sure this team will do their best to make you proud, wherever you are. #tbt #rip #playforfoe.”
