Rivers LG boss puts N2m bounty on suspected cultist

The Chairman of Emuoha Local Government Area in Rivers State, Dr. Chidi Lloyd, has placed a N2 million bounty on Sunday Amadi, a suspected cultist believed to be involved recent rise in criminal activities along the East-West Road.

Amadi, who hails from the Odiego community, is reportedly a member of a criminal gang that has been terrorizing travelers along the East-West Road. Lloyd has urged anyone with information about Amadi’s whereabouts to contact the nearest police station.

I placed a N2 million bounty on Sunday Amadi from Odiogo community who is also a member of the gang responsible for the recent upsurge of crime on that East-West Road.

“Anybody with useful information about Sunday Amadi should report to the nearest police station,” Lloyd said while speaking to newsmen in Port Harcourt on Thursday

In a positive development, three individuals who were abducted last Saturday along the Emuoha axis of the East-West Road have been released and reunited with their families. The abductees were reportedly traveling from Bayelsa State to Port Harcourt when the kidnappers intercepted them. A fourth occupant of the vehicle managed to escape.

The state police command has confirmed the release of the abductees and is currently investigating the incident to apprehend the perpetrators. The spokesperson for the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, has urged caution for those traveling along the East-West Road, especially during the upcoming festive season.
