The Security Adviser to Kogi State Government, Navy Commander Jerry Omodara (retd) on Wednesday paid tribute to Nigeria’s first female combatant helicopter pilot, late Tolulope Arotile at her one-year remembrance service.
Omodara, who declared that though Arotile was gone, she can never be forgotten.
He also described Arotile’s death as a great loss to every patriotic Nigerian.
“We are devastated by her tragic death,” he said.
According to him, the late helicopter pilot was a young promising lady, whose tragic death cannot be forgotten so quickly.
Omodara said it is often stated that ‘time heals all wounds,’ but he would not agree because the wounds of Arotile’s death remain fresh.
“In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone,” he said.
