Putin congratulates Biden on winning US presidential election
Russian President Vladimir Putin has finally congratulated US President-elect Joe Biden on winning the 2020 US presidential election of November 3.
Biden was confirmed winner of the election by the Electoral College a few hours ago despite President Donald Trump not conceding defeat.
Congratulating the Democratic party candidate, the Kremlin issued a statement expressing Putin’s readiness to work with Biden.
“For my part, I am ready for interaction and contact with you,” the Kremlin cited Putin.
“Putin wished the president-elect every success and expressed confidence that Russia and the United States, which have a special responsibility for global security and stability, could, despite their differences, really help to solve the many problems and challenges facing the world,” the Kremlin said.
