Nigerian music producer and entrepreneur, Don Jazzy, has said Mavin Records is not dead.
Born Michael Collins Ajereh, Don Jazzy founded Mavin Records on 8 May 2012 after the closure of Mo’ Hits Records, which he co-founded, in 2004.
After churning hits with artistes like Korede Bello, Reekado Banks, Dr. Sid, Tiwa Savage and Di’Ja, Mavin Records seems to have floundered.
Wondering at the dryness of songs from the stables of Mavin Records, a curious fan, one Ambrose Okwoli Jnr, had asked Don Jazzy on Twitter:
Mr Jazzy, is Mavin dead or Buhari’s change has hit your label? This one your top artistes are leaving, leaving behind the learners and the upcoming?
Don Jazzy then replied saying they have only fainted slightly and will definitely recover.
He said,
Naaa we never die. We just faint small. E Dey happen. Pray for us to recover if you can.
