Members of the Omishade branch of the Abisogun Ruling House in the Iru Kingdom have pledged their full support and loyalty to the new Oniru of Iru Kingdom, Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, Abisogun II.

The Head of the Omishade branch, Chief Kola Fagbayi, made the pledge in Lagos on Monday, when he led a delegation of the family to the palace to congratulate the new traditional ruler on his recent ascension to the throne of his forefathers.

Fagbayi prayed for God’s immense blessings and wisdom for the Oniru to be able to pilot the affairs of his kingdom.

He expressed joy and happiness on the installation of Oba Gbolahan Lawal, adding that Iru kingdom would benefit greatly from the wealth of knowledge and experience having served in the public service prior to his installation.

“We, the Omishade Branch of the Abisogun ruling family are here today to congratulate our new Oniru, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, Abisogun II, on his ascension to the throne.

“It is our great pleasure that we have such a knowledgeable and humble man to rule the Iru kingdom because we will benefit a lot from him.

“We know that before he became king, he had served in different sectors of the public service and he performed well.

“This is why the entire Omishade branch of the Abisogun family are solidly behind him. We pledge our full support to the new traditional ruler because his ascension is well deserved and timely,” he said.

Fagbayi said that the Oniru had always been involved in the affairs of the Abisogun family, being his mother’s lineage and always supported their activities.

He expressed satisfaction that the Oniru’s hard work and dedication to the ruling family had paid off.

“Oba Omogbolahan Lawal is my brother. We are related to our mothers’ household because we have the same great grandmother who came from Iru.

“I see how he supports the whole family during events and he has proven to be a true son of the soil.

“We, from the Omishade branch of the Abisogun family, have come today to see Kabiyesi congratulate him on his ascension to the throne because he is our brother,” Fagbayi said.

He further noted that Oba Lawal was an exceptional man who always had a listening ear to the cry of others while lending his helping hands to those who needed it.

Fagbayi noted that the reign of the Oniru would be an inclusive one, just as he pledged the unflinching support of the entire Omishade family to the new Oniru.

He prayed that the Iru Kingdom would continue to prosper under the reign of Oba Lawal and asked that almighty God avail him of the wisdom and knowledge needed to rule his people.
