A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye has condoled with the family of a former Governor of old Ondo State, Evang. Bamidele Olumilua, on the demise of their patriarch.

In a condolence message issued on Thursday in Akure by his Media Aide, Mr. Oluyemi Fasipe, Adefisoye, representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, said that the former governor ruled with the fear of God and love for the masses.

The, who is the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Army, also condoled with the governments and people of Ekiti and Ondo states, including the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ondo State and at the national level.

It was recalled that Olumilua was the governor of old Ondo State from January 1992 to November 1993 under the platform of SDP.

“The demise of the former governor, Evang. Bamidele Olumilua has certainly marked the end of an era of conscientious politics.

“Olumilua ruled the old Ondo state with the fear of God and complete love and care for the masses.

“He would have undoubtedly transformed the old Ondo State but for the military incursion of Gen. Sanni Abacha on Nov. 17, 1993.

“But, it still gladdens our heart that Evang. Olumilua made his mark within the short period he spent in office as governor,” he said.

Adefisoye expressed joy that the former governor lived a fulfilled life and attained the ripe age of 80.

He, therefore, encouraged the immediate family members of the deceased not to mourn like unbelievers, but to celebrate the life and time of their patriarch.
