Okada rider, 31, rapes 13-year-old girl at knifepoint in Rivers
A 30-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Matthew Baride Gor, has found himself in the clutches of the police for allegedly raping a girl, 13, at knifepoint in Rivers State.
Gor was alleged to have committed the act after he offered the victim a lift in the Barayira community, Tai Local Government Area of the state.
A cousin to the victim, Mr Sebastian Mission, while narrating what she told him to newsmen in Port Harcourt, said the okada rider diverted her to a lonely road, threatened her with a knife and had his way last Friday.
Mission said,
“She told us that she was going to see her mother. This was around 6pm. So, while coming back from the Trailer Park in Eleme, the guy (Matthew) increased the speed of the motorcycle on the expressway.
“He suddenly stopped and parked the bike, entered one road and told her he wanted to defecate. When my cousin protested, he threatened her with a knife and raped her.”
He explained that a security guard, who heard a scream, came out and saw the victim crying by the side of the road and decided to take her to a youth leader in the community.
The youth leader, in turn, advised that the matter should be reported to the community chief.
Mission disclosed that Matthew was later arrested by the police following a manhunt for him.
The spokesman for the state police command, Nnamdi Omoni, said he had not been briefed about the incident, but promised to call the Divisional Police Officer in the Tai Local Government Area to find out.
