Nigerians excited as Chelsea use Yoruba language in new commercial [Video]
Some Nigerians overwhelmed by the use of Yoruba language in a new video commercial by Chelsea football club have taken to social media to express their excitement.
Twitter has been flooded with reactions since the English Premier League club posted the video around 9 am on Friday (today) on their verified Twitter handle @ChelseaFC.
The one minute 53 seconds commercial announces and prepares fans for the London derbies coming up during the Christmas and New Year breaks.
Chelsea tweeted:
All eyes on London. The world is watching.
Together we’re #ThePrideOfLondon. ?? pic.twitter.com/1gGDLS1Mcp

Chelsea will be traveling to Tottenham on Sunday 22nd December, a week after, Sunday 29th December, they will take on agelong London rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
In the footage, different languages were spoken by the characters to share their memorable moments from Chelsea matches and also talk about their anticipation of the London derbies.
At the 37th second where the Yoruba language was sampled, three characters – a lady and two men were seen in a room discussing Chelsea’s old match against Arsenal.
Pointing to the video of the match on his mobile phone, one of the characters said:
“E ri nkan ti Drogba se fun Arsenal?” (Watch what Drogba did against Arsenal)
The other man replied:
“Rara” (No)
The Blues winger Christian Pulisic also made a cameo appearance in the commercial.
Ecstatic Nigerian football lovers have been showering accolades on the London club for using Yoruba language in the video.
