Nigeria discharges 37 COVID-19 patients
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has on Monday discharged 37 patients who recovered from the deadly coronavirus.
In a statement released on the health agency’s official Twitter handle in the early hours of Tuesday, the NCDC revealed that the number of discharged patients has risen to 154,963 in the last 24 hours.
This is just as the NCDC announced that the country reported 37 fresh cases of COVID-19 nationwide on Monday, taking the number of confirmed cases to 164,756.
“On the 26th of April 2021, 37 new confirmed cases and zero death was recorded in Nigeria” adding that “The 37 new cases are reported from 6 states- Lagos (26), Ogun (4), Kaduna (2), Rivers (2), Kwara (2), and Edo (1).”
“Till date, 164,756 cases have been confirmed, 154,963 cases have been discharged and 2,062 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.”
WuzupNigeria gathered that there are 7,731 active cases in the country out of over 1.9million samples tested since the index case was reported in February 2020.
A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, continues to coordinate the national response activities.
