Nigeria, a huge wasteland, huge debris of deceit – Bishop Kukah
The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Mathew Hassan Kukah has described Nigeria as a huge wasteland, debris of deceit, lies, treachery, double-dealing and duplicity.
The Catholic Bishop, undeterred by the criticisms of his Christmas message said darkness was setting in Nigeria as the sun quickly receded, urging that there should be a sense of urgency.
Speaking at the wake of His Grace, Archbishop Peter Jatau at St. Joseph’s Catho Cathedral in Kaduna, Kukah in a message titled: “A Nation in Search of its Soul ”, said the country was setting gradually into chaos.
He explained that Nigeria was like the proverbial farmer searching for his black goat and has to do it with a sense of urgency because darkness was fast setting in.
He noted that Nigerian politics has become a huge Trojan horse, a hoax, a hall of guile and dissimulation.
Kukah explained that the levels of frustration in the country were rising by the day, adding that this can be seen in the rise in domestic violence and inter-communal conflicts.
He explained that the challenges in Nigeria have turned the country into a nation at war with itself.
