The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 62-year-old native doctor identified as Chief Benjamin Nkor and two others for the murder of Ezino Ogege, a 300-level student of the Delta State University, Abraka.

The Police Commissioner in the state, Mustapha Muhammad, who disclosed this to journalists in Asaba, said that the native doctor upon interrogation confessed to the crime, saying that he had been involved in money rituals in Abeokuta Ogun State in the last ten years before he fled the town for security reasons.

Recall that 22-year-old Elozino was found dead in a bush at the outskirts of Abraka, on November 18, 2018, after she was declared missing November 15.

CP Muhammad said, “Gentlemen of the press, the suspects, particularly the native doctor said he specializes in using human parts for money rituals, especially for those who want to get rich quickly,” adding that the suspects were being held for further investigation as they will be charged to court on completion of investigation.

The prime suspect, Chief Benjamin Akor, also confessed that he has been involved in ritual killing for ten years.

He said,

“I have been involved in money rituals for over the years in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

“I ran away to Delta State for security reasons, I am from Aboh community in Delta State, I was trained by my late father and I stayed with my uncle because I didn’t go to school, I am finished, I have five Children, what will happen to them now?

“Please police forgive me, the two other suspects got me involved in the business and I charged them N300,000 and they pay part of the money before the incident.”

While narrating how the victim was lured into the trap by a security guard, CP Mustafa Muhammad said,

“The suspects have made useful statements to the police, the police recovered the handset of the victim and investigation is ongoing with a view to arresting more suspects.”

The police boss, however, called on members of the public to be security conscious and know what their neighbours do for a living and assured Deltans that the command was on top of the matter as the police will leave no stone unturned to bring the culprits to book.
