Mob set suspected burglar ablaze in Delta community
A suspected burglar was burnt alive by a mob at the Cinema Site Roundabout, Okumagba Avenue, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State in the early hours of Saturday.
The PUNCH reports that the incident caused anxiety in the Warri metropolis as it was reported that the mob took delight at the scene of the burning corpse.
One of the witnesses told newsmen that the suspect was nabbed in action while breaking into a house in the area.
The suspect was said to have successfully burgled other homes in the neighbourhood before running out of luck.
Consequently, police operatives from ‘B’ Division, Warri, who got a hint of the incident were deployed in the scene to ensure calm and vehicular movement.
The acting Police Public Relations Officer for the Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, could not be reached for comment on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
