Man, 35, allegedly rapes 14-year-old girl in Katsina
A 35-year-old farmer, Abdullahi Abdu, of Makadama village, Batsari Local Government Area of the state, has been remanded in a correctional centre for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl.
Dikko, who ordered his remand, said Abdu should be at the correctional centre until March 31, 2021, when his case would come up before her for mention.
Abdu was charged with rape contrary to Section 254 of the Katsina State Penal Code Law, 2019.
The police prosecutor, Sergeant Lawal Bello, said Abdu, who is a neighbour to the victim, allegedly lured her into a bush on the outskirts of the village on January 1, 2021, where he allegedly had carnal knowledge of her three times.
Lawal said the victim’s father, one Usman Isah, reported the incident at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Batsari, leading to Abdu’s arrest and arraignment.
