Burna Boy’s mother, Bose Ogulu was the cynosure of all eyes at the 2019 BET Awards as she stole the show with her epic acceptance speech after receiving the Best International Act award on behalf of her son.

She held audience spellbound at the Microsoft Theatre in California, venue of the 2019 BET Awards event as her appearance on stage and the speech that followed earned her standing ovation.

For Mama Burna, Africa must remain at the front burner and she reminded the audience just that.

Speaking of her son as she mounted the stage to receive the award, she said,

“He must be the most restless person I’ve ever known, he was here just now.”

After receiving the award, the youthful mother of the reigning BET Best International Act gave the world a motivational word to savour for some time.

She said

“Thank you BET, Thank you Africa because that’s the constituency for which we got noticed in the first place.

“The message from Burna, I believe will be that every black person should please remember that you were Africans before you became anything else.”

The speech earned her a rapturous applause from the audience and had since evoked several reactions on social media, placing Mama Burna at the top of trending topic on Twitter in Nigeria.
