At Last! Arsene Wenger says he is ready to manage England
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has said it is possible he could “one day” manage England if he had no club commitments.
The Frenchman celebrates 20 years as manager of the Gunners this weekend but has again been linked with the national team job after Sam Allardyce’s contract was terminated over controversial remarks he made to undercover reporters from the Daily Telegraph.
His Arsenal contract expires at the end of the season and there has been no confirmation yet of whether the 67-year-old will sign a new deal with the north London club.
According to Press Association report on Daily Mail, Wenger said when quizzed about the England job at a news conference on Friday morning: “My priority is to do well here. If I am free one day, why not?”
