Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Director-General (DG) of the agency, said that the platform would allow live location, images, and audio clips to be shared between the public and the agency.
Osayintolu in a statement said that the launch was in furtherance of its responsibilities of coordinating disaster management within the state.
“The WhatsApp platform is manned 24/7 and can be reached on +2347025004985.
” This line is in addition to the TOLL-FREE 767/112 voice service and the local emergency officers located in all the local government areas and the local council development areas of the state.
“The service is an attempt to additionally cater to another demographic of Lagos while providing the agency with better information for an improved and targeted response,” the LASEMA boss said.
The agency said it would continue to improve its service delivery in line with the Lagos State Government’s agenda to secure the safety of the lives and property of residents.
