The Lagos State Police Command has initiated a manhunt for the individuals responsible for the killing of politician Samsondeen Ali in the Oworonshoki area of the state.

Ali was allegedly murdered by two assailants at the Precious Seed Community in Oworonshoki following an argument with the suspected hoodlums, believed to be land grabbers according to reports.

A source in the community, who spoke anonymously to PUNCH Metro, the incident occurred on Saturday when Ali, a former contestant for the councillorship position, tried to erect a fence behind his house to prevent illegal passage.

The source revealed that the hoodlums confronted Ali during this process.

A police source provided additional details, stating, “The two suspects approached the deceased and demanded money (owo omo onile) from him, but he was not in agreement with them, so they hit him with planks and he slumped.”

The source explained that one of the attackers offered to take Ali to a nearby medical center, but upon reaching the facility, they were redirected to the General Hospital, Gbagada, due to the severity of Ali’s injuries.

However, upon reaching the hospital, the doctor pronounced Ali dead. The Lagos State Police Command is actively pursuing the suspects in connection with the killing.
