I lied to my parents I have ushering job, says suspected murderer of Super TV CEO
Chidinma Ojukwu, the 21-year-old suspected killer of the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV, Usifo Ataga, on Thursday says she lied to her parent just to spend some days with the deceased.
An emotional Ojukwu who was paraded at the Lagos Police Command in Ikeja disclosed that leaving home to spend days with the late Ataga in a serene Lekki chalet did not come easy.
When quizzed repeatedly on how her parents easily let her off the hook easily, she told newsmen that when she couldn’t come up with a cogent reason, her only option was to concoct a ‘plausible’ lie.
The 300-level student of Mass Communication admitted lying to her parents who reside in Alagomeji area of Yaba Local Government Development Area that she was going for an ushering job.
On local campus, part time gigs such as waiters and ushers are known to sometimes go beyond a day depending on the event.
“I stay with my parents in Alagomeji in Yaba. So I told them that I was going for ushering job (to allow me to leave),” she said.
Chidinma revealed that she met the victim about four to five months ago through a mutual friend but admitted that they don’t get to see regularly though.
She, who was the only suspect paraded at the command on Thursday, confessed to having a romantic relationship with the deceased for about three to four months before the incident.
According to her, an altercation broke out when they were having fun leading to his death.
The 300-level student of Mass Communication told newsmen at the Lagos State Police Command that she stabbed Ataga twice on the neck, rupturing his arteries in the process.
