Gunmen abduct businessman, aide in Kwara

Gunmen have abducted a charcoal dealer, Kola Bosere, and his assistant, Philemon, in Jebba, Moro local government area of Kwara State. The victims were abducted during the early hours of Monday.

According to a source close to the family, the kidnappers invaded Sikiru’s residence at midnight and took him away with his assistant, Philemon. While Philemon was later released, Sikiru’s whereabouts remain unknown.

Philemon is currently receiving treatment at a private health hospital in Jebba.

The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the incident and initiated a search and rescue operation.

Police spokesman Okasanmi Ajayi stated, “A case of kidnapping was received early this morning, one victim already rescued while efforts are ongoing to rescue the remaining victim and possibly arrest the kidnappers.”

The motive behind the abduction remains unclear, and the situation is currently under investigation.
