Four businesses Nigerian ladies are making cool money from nowadays
The economy of Nigeria is in a dire condition. Many people are looking for ways to generate more revenue, if they even had any income at all. This has led many people into doubling their hustle to make ends meet.
Here are four businesses Nigerian ladies are doing to help them beat the economic hardship.
1. Blogging
Following the success recorded by Linda Ikeji, arguably the most successful blogger in the country, Nigerian ladies have seen how lucrative the business can be. A blog can be treated like a personal diary which is accessible to the public to read. If the content of the blog is attractive enough to attract audience then it can be translated in to money via advertisement. There are no rules really, most of the ladies who are into this business only keep their blogs running with day to day reports of happenings in their lives and around them, the spice it up with photos, audio recordings videos and every other conceivable media. And before long, with perseverance and smart work, they can start flaunting multi-million naira mansions, designer bags and cars.
2. E-commerce
Like blogging, e-commerce is also based on the internet. It is about making sales and deliveries of real goods and services. The only difference between e-commerce and the traditional buying and selling is that the medium is the internet. Some ladies collaborate with already established wholesalers and all they do is retail via the internet. Many ladies also now use logistic services or their cars as to transport the wares to their customers while they use their houses as the store. Don’t get it twisted; they make cool easy cash from the venture.
3. Mobile fashion shop
It is not an awkward sight to see some business minded ladies park their cars at places with high pedestrian traffic displaying fashion materials. The wares commonly seen include cloths, bags, shoes, makeup kits, accessories and other fashion items. Such businesses are cool because it requires lesser logistics than when one hires a warehouse. The business women engaging in such activities are also able to avoid multiple taxation. Best of all, as time goes by, they are they have enough customers and they don’t have to stay on street corners any more. Sometimes, they just graduate to e-commerce which makes everything easier.
4. Event management
For many Nigerian ladies, event management comes very easy. One reason is because of the natural gift many ladies have in organizing the home. It may also have something to do with the assumption by many that ladies are the life of a party. So many ladies start by helping friends and families to organize their parties gratis. After several test runs, most of them just print business cards and register the business name with the Corporate Affairs Commission, and that would be the beginning of a registered event management company.
