As voters go out to vote for presidential and national assembly seats, an 80-year-old voter, Malam Abubakar Abubakar, has urged the electorate to be patient and orderly while exercising their civic responsibilities.

Abubakar who was on queue awaiting the arrival of voting materials in Rigasa, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, said that the electorate should not be daunted over the delay in the arrival of election materials.

He said, though he was at the Lokoja road polling unit since 8:00am, he would not leave until he exercise his franchise.

Abubakar appreciated the large turn out of voters and prayed to God to choose the best leaders for the country.

Also, Muhammad Umar, 72, said he would wait patiently to vote in spite of the delay in the arrival of election materials.

“I am here to vote for the candidate I like and I pray that God guide us to choose just and selfless leaders for us,” Umar added.

Another elderly person, Salihu Abdullahi, 60, commended the large turn out of voters and adequate security at the polling units.

Election commenced at the Lokoja road polling unit at about 10:30am.
