Nigerian musician, Aniji Shedrack Chidubem, who goes by the stage name Sanij-D, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for allegedly defrauding a British citizen, Susan Mclean, of N9.3 million, which is equivalent to £9,300.

The commission also revealed that he defrauded an American citizen, Diana Rosado Gonzalax, of $2,000.

Chidubem was apprehended on Monday in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, based on credible intelligence regarding the activities of an internet fraud syndicate.

The suspect had reportedly impersonated Christopher Rossi, posing as a marine engineer responsible for fixing boats and pipelines in Singapore.

He carried out his fraudulent activities using social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, using foreign phone numbers to deceive his victims.

Chidubem, known for his songs “Profesy” and “Katalina,” is now in the custody of the authorities.
