Dencia criticizes Tiwa Savage for calling out Beyonce over #EndSARS
Singer Dencia has criticized Tiwa Savage for calling on Beyonce to speak up against police brutality in Nigeria.
Tiwa Savage in a social media post had called on the US singer to lend her support to the protests in Nigeria just as Nigerians supported the Black Lives Matter protests in America.
The singer who featured in Beyonce’s Black is King album said:
“I want to use my platform to call on Beyoncé and the whole team that reached out to all of us to use their voice and platform for us too. The country that birthed these celebrated afrobeat talents is on fire. You cannot ignore us or be quiet at this time.”
Her words were rubbished by Dencia who pointed out that Beyonce couldn’t use her music to change the situation with the police in her own country.
Dencia wrote:
“Lol because the Nigerian government cares about what Beyoncé is saying, the police is listening to Beyoncé. She spoke & sang against the 1 in America, what changed? Africans we always seeking unnecessary validation from things & people that can’t help.”
