JUST IN: Court jails ex-minister Ochekpe, two others over money laundering
A former Minister of Water Resources, Sarah Ochekpe, has been sentenced to three months in prison by the Federal High Court Jos Division on Tuesday.
Ochekpe, alongside, a former Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Raymond Dabo, and one Evangelist Leo Sunday Jitung were sentenced on conspiracy and money laundering charges.
Reports revealed that the trio had been standing trial for the conspiracy and money laundering charges for four years.
According to The Nation, the court handed Ochekpe, Dabo and Jitung an option of a fine of N1m.
