Car spare parts’ thieves arraigned in Ibadan

Two men, Abiodun Bello, 33, and Opeyemi Onajite, 46, were on Friday arraigned in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing car parts worth N160, 000.

The duo, whose residential addresses were not provided, were charged with conspiracy and stealing.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Foluke Adedosu, told the court that the defendants allegedly committed the offence on February 25, at 1.00 a.m. at Olunde area, Ibadan.

She said they allegedly stole a radiator worth N60, 000, one hub iron worth N50, 000, one iron drum of N20, 000 and one engine coolant worth N30, 000 from a truck.

According to her, the property belonged to one Tirimisiyu Ademola.

She said the offence contravened provisions under Section 516 and Section 390(9) of the criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Magistrate I. O Osho granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200, 000 each and two sureties each in like sum.

She adjourned the case until May 5 for hearing.
