Brighton stun Brentford with comeback to win 2-1
Brighton & Hove Albion secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Brentford at the Amex Stadium, thanks to a resilient performance and a first-team debut goal by 18-year-old Jack Hinshelwood.
Despite falling behind to a Bryan Mbeumo penalty in the first half, Brighton swiftly equalized through Pascal Gross’s powerful strike.
Shortly after, Brentford suffered a major blow as Mbeumo was forced off the field with a leg injury.
Hinshelwood, making his first senior appearance for the Seagulls, emerged as the unlikely hero in the second half.
He displayed composure and defensive awareness by clearing an attempt off the line from Yoane Wissa, before capitalizing on a lofted cross from Gross to head home the winning goal.
This comeback victory marks only Brighton’s second Premier League win in nine matches, providing a much-needed boost to their campaign.
For Brentford, the loss and Mbeumo’s injury add to the disappointment, as they look to maintain their strong start to the season.
