Military holds mass funeral for personnel killed in Niger ambush
The Nigerian military conducted a mass burial on Friday for at least 20 officers and soldiers killed in action by terrorists in Niger State.
The deceased personnel, including 14 soldiers and 6 Air Force members, died during an ambush on August 14 and a subsequent jet crash in the state.
Defense Minister Abubakar Badaru, State Minister Bello Matawalle, Chief of Defense Staff Gen. Christopher Musa, and other top military officials attended the funeral. Also present were family members of the fallen heroes.

The troops were ambushed while on patrol in Zungeru-Tegina. The subsequent air crash occurred during casualty evacuation efforts. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
