Almajiri deported by Nasarawa to Taraba tests positive for Covid-19
An Almajiri evacuated from Nasarawa State to Taraba has tested positive to the deadly coronavirus pandemic, the state Commissioner for Information and Re-Orientation, Barr. Danjuma Adamu, said on Wednesday.
The new confirmed case id part of the 80 alamajiris sent back by the Nasarawa State government to Taraba last week.
WuzupNigeria reports that six patients who have tested negative twice have been discharged from the isolation centres in Jalingo, the state capital.
Barr. Danjuma disclosed this while briefing journalists in Jalingo. He said the state initially rejected the Amajiris but later decided to receive and quarantined them.
“We took samples of all the 80 Amajiris and sent to Abuja for testing and one of the sample tested positive, while the result of the remaining is still being waited.
“We have another positive case from Wukari local government and efforts are being made to bring the patient to Jalingo.
“The good news however is that six of the patients being treated in our isolation centre have tested negative twice and have been discharged,” he said.
