50 Cent joins Boycott Gucci call

Published

Rapper 50 Cent has taken to social media to show his followers how he has responded to the Boycott Gucci call.

The rapper shared a video of him burning all the Gucci clothes he had at home.

The call came after the designer released a sweater which many found offensive because it reminded them of a “Blackface racist caricature.”

Despite Gucci’s creative director, Alessandro Michele, issuing an apology and removing the sweater from stores, many blacks still feel the need to boycott their brand.

Alessandro expressed the pain he felt that one of his creative projects was seen as “an intolerable insult”

He is quoted as saying:

“I feel the need to write you all these few words to give a name to the pain of these days,”

Among those who have joined the Boycott Gucci call is rapper T.I, Spike Lee, Soulja Boy and recently 50 Cent who took to Instagram with a video of him burning clothes made by the designer.
