Nollywood actress Bolaji Ogunmola has firmly dismissed rumours of a romantic relationship with co-star Daniel Etim-Effiong, insisting their on-screen chemistry is strictly professional.
The speculation arose after intimate scenes, including kisses, in her new YouTube film ‘In The Bloom After’, released on February 6. In the movie, Ogunmola plays a woman rediscovering herself after a failed marriage, while Etim-Effiong portrays one of her love interests.
An X user questioned the on-screen kisses, suggesting the actors might be “an item” off-screen. Ogunmola responded sharply, defending the film’s message and rejecting any suggestion of romance.
“You are an absolute retard!! You watched to tweet stupidity and it shows. What is the entire film about you nitwit!! you want to reduce my entire work to kissing. You are an absolute fool and all of you thinking like that. What foolish item, We don’t even talk outside of work!” she wrote.
She emphasized that she and Etim-Effiong maintain a strictly professional relationship and do not communicate outside work.
Ogunmola also revealed she might quit social media and hire a manager to handle her accounts, stating, “It’s like I’ll get a social media manager and just stop using these apps. So I can focus on what really matters.., The work!!! All these opinions and comments.. we are human beings as well.”
‘In The Bloom After’ has garnered over 1.5 million views since its release. Daniel Etim-Effiong is married to personal branding expert Toyosi Etim-Effiong.
