A 38-year-old Nigerian man, Oghenemaro Dave Ejerua, has been arrested and charged in Toronto, Canada, for allegedly assaulting vulnerable adults at a care home.
According to a statement from the Toronto Police Service, Ejerua was employed as a caregiver at a group home in the Sibley Avenue and Dentonia Park Avenue area.
The police allege that between November 1 and November 30, 2025, Ejerua committed a series of assaults on multiple residents of the facility.
The investigation began on December 10, 2025, after officers responded to a report of an assault at the location. Following the report, a manhunt was launched, and Ejerua was declared wanted before his eventual arrest.
He now faces seven counts of assault. “Oghenemaro Dave Ejerua, 38, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with seven counts of assault,” the police statement confirmed.
He was scheduled for an initial court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice on January 7, 2026.
This incident follows another recent case involving a Nigerian national in Canada. In December 2025, Toronto Police arrested 28-year-old Babatunde Afuwape and charged him with murder in connection with the death of a 20-year-old university student, Shivank Avasthi.
