The 2025 Mister Cosmopolitan Nigeria and newly crowned Mister Cosmopolitan Africa, Godwin Awaji-Iroso Abiodun, did not advance to the Top Five at the Mister Cosmopolitan 2025 international competition held in Bangkok.
The grand finale took place on Sunday at Siam Fantasy, Asiatique, Bangkok, featuring leading contestants from around the world.
The event included an opening introduction of all candidates, a swimwear segment for the Top 18, announcements of the Top 10 and Top 5, formal wear presentations, final speeches, special awards, and the crowning ceremony.
Abiodun, a creative designer and former Mister Rivers State University student for 2023/2024, stood out with his poised performance in the Black Tuxedo Round, a formal wear segment, earning him the Best in Formal Wear award.
Although he made it to the Top 10, Abiodun was unable to proceed further after being titled Mister Cosmopolitan Africa.
South Africa’s Sandile Christo Gama, who reached the Top Five, finished as second runner-up, while a contestant from the Philippines was named first runner-up. Gama also won the Best Swimwear award.
The overall Mister Cosmopolitan 2025 crown went to Shawn Lin Yu Hsiang of Taiwan.
The Top Five finalists, comprising the top four contestants plus the fan vote winner, delivered final speeches before the winners were announced.
Despite not making the Top Five, Abiodun’s success as Mister Cosmopolitan Africa reinforced Nigeria’s strong presence and growing influence in continental pageantry.
Earlier reports from PUNCH Online highlighted that Abiodun had won the Best Physique award during the preliminary rounds on Friday at MBK Centre, Bangkok, underlining his consistent standout performances throughout the event.
