Nigerian music stars Tems, Wizkid, and Burna Boy have been nominated for the 56th NAACP Image Awards.
The awards celebrate outstanding achievements in arts, entertainment, and culture.
The event is scheduled to take place on February 22 at the Pasadena Civic Center in California. It will be broadcast live on BET and CBS, with the theme “Our Stories, Culture, and Excellence.”
Burna Boy received a nomination for “Outstanding Duo, Group, or Collaboration (Contemporary)” for his song *Coming Home* with Usher. Wizkid is in the running for “Outstanding International Song” for his collaboration with Brent Faiyaz on *Piece of My Heart*.
Tems also earned a nomination in the “Outstanding International Song” category for her track Love Me JeJe.
Other notable personalities include Ayo Edebiri, who bagged five nominations, including “Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series” and “Outstanding Voiceover,” as well as British-Nigerian actress Cynthia Erivo, who also made the nominee list. South African artist Tyla is nominated for “Outstanding New Artist.”
