The award-winning singer landed in Udaipur, a city in India, where he received a royal welcome befitting his status as the “Afrobeat King.” Videos shared on his Instagram stories captured the star arriving by ship, with flower petals thrown at him in celebration.
In one of the clips, Davido turned around joyfully, soaking in the moment as he was treated like royalty. Fans and followers have been reacting to the videos, praising the warm reception given to the Nigerian superstar.

The singer was reportedly paid ₦17 billion to perform at a royal wedding in India.
Davido’s visit to India highlights his growing influence globally and mirrors similar receptions Nigerian artists have received in the country.
Last year, Rema, known for his hit song “Calm Down,” performed at the grand wedding of Anant Ambani, son of Mukesh Ambani, Asia’s richest man. Like Davido, Rema was welcomed with an elaborate display of Indian culture, including traditional dancers.
