The Lagos State Police Command is searching for a 48-year-old man, Kadiri Yusuf, also known as Alado, who is accused of severely beating two of his children.

The incident took place in Orile Agege, Lagos State, where the children, aged 11 and 13, suffered serious injuries.

The case was brought to the attention of the police by the head teacher of a primary school, who noticed the injuries on one of the pupils.

According to Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, the teacher reported the matter on Friday, October 18, after seeing the wounds on the 11-year-old girl.

Hundeyin explained, “The teacher claimed that the little girl confided in her about how her father, Kadiri Yusuf, used to beat her. She also said her 13-year-old brother was often beaten by their father.”

Thankfully, the children have been rescued, treated, and are now in the care of their older sister. However, Yusuf fled before the police could reach him, and the authorities are working hard to arrest him.

This case highlights the ongoing issue of child abuse in Nigeria. Many children face violence in their homes and schools, but due to societal norms and fear of stigma, these incidents often go unreported.
