Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria, Senegal, Cape Verde, and Egypt have all secured berths in the Round of 16 at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The final matches in Group A and Group B on Monday solidified their positions.
Equatorial Guinea achieved a resounding 4-0 victory against the host nation, Ivory Coast, securing their place in the last-16.
Nigeria also emerged victorious with a 1-0 win over Guinea-Bissau, while Egypt played to a 2-2 draw against Cape Verde. Ghana mirrored this result with a 2-2 draw against Mozambique.
In Group B, Egypt’s second-place finish ahead of Ghana in third means both teams advance to the knockout stage.
Senegal and Cape Verde had already secured their spots after winning their initial two matches, with Senegal still having one more game to play.
