Guinness confirms Nigerian man’s record for most ladder climbs with ball on head
Nigerian man, Tonye Solomon, has set a new Guinness World Record for the most steps climbed on a ladder while balancing a football on his head.
Solomon, 25, from Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, climbed 150 steps to the top of a 250-foot (76-metre) tall radio mast in just 12 and a half minutes.
The feat was witnessed by a large crowd of people, including Fish Jombo, a radio presenter who said he was “astonished” by Solomon’s achievement.
“It’s never been done by anyone before,” Jombo said. “I’m so proud of him.”
Solomon said he was inspired to set the record to challenge himself and “inspire others to do great things.”
“I prepared for this for two months,” he said. “I trained every day, and I’m so glad I was able to do it.”
He thanked the Nigerian Civil Defense Bayelsa State Command for allowing him to use their facility for the record attempt.
“I’m grateful for their support,” he said.
