Woli Agba, Dele threaten legal action over link to Toluwanisings’ death

Comedians Ayobami Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, and Olamide Oladimeji, also known as Dele Omo Woli, have threatened legal action against individuals circulating allegations linking them to the death of gospel minister Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings.

Woli Agba disclosed this in a public notice shared on his Instagram page on Sunday.

The notice, issued by their solicitors, Gemgold Solicitors, warned members of the public against publishing or sharing what they described as false and defamatory allegations against the two entertainers.

Dated October 23, 2026, the notice stated that the allegations were baseless and intended to damage the reputations of the clients.

“Our Clients’ attention has been drawn to certain defamatory publications and online broadcasts containing false, baseless, and malicious allegations against them. These publications appear calculated to tarnish our Clients’ hard-earned reputations, expose them to public ridicule, and incite hostility against them.

“We state categorically that these allegations, particularly those falsely associating our Clients with the demise of Toluwanisings, are entirely false, unsubstantiated, and unfounded,” the notice partly read.

The solicitors warned that individuals who originated, shared or amplified defamatory content could also be held liable under the law, including those who circulated material from anonymous or untraceable accounts.

“Anyone who originates, publishes, forwards, or endorses defamatory material is equally liable under the law,” the notice stated.

The legal representatives urged members of the public to refrain from publishing or circulating unverified allegations concerning the entertainers, stop endorsing such material and remove any defamatory content previously shared on their personal pages, blogs or social media platforms.

The notice further stated that the clients reserved their legal rights and would take action against individuals and media platforms that continued to circulate the allegations.

“Any individual, blog, media platform, or social media user who continues to publish, re-circulate, or broadcast false and defamatory content against our Clients will face swift legal action, including claims for substantial damages and injunctive relief under applicable civil and criminal laws,” it added.

The solicitors also urged the public to verify information before sharing it, stressing the need for responsible communication and respect for individual dignity.

The development comes amid controversy surrounding allegations linking gospel singer Tope Alabi to Toluwanisings’ death and the deaths of other gospel ministers.

WUZUPNigeria had earlier reported that Alabi threatened legal action against a Canada-based pastor, identified as Tayo Kumuyi, also known as Pastor Tayo Ministries, over publications allegedly linking her to the deaths.

Alabi’s solicitors, Oakmount Legal Practitioners, issued a cease-and-desist letter dated October 24, 2026, demanding the removal of the publications, a retraction and an apology from the operators of the Facebook page, Pastor Tayo Ministries.

The letter, titled “Cease and Desist: Malicious and Defamatory Publications and Threats Against Our Client,” described itself as a final demand for the removal of the publications, retraction and apology within 24 hours.
